Project 1: Self-Expression through Object
REPRESENTING ME

Project 1 of architectural studio is a project which requires us to create a piece of art work that represent ourselves. from this project actually i've improved a lot in identify what inside my self with pictures,lines, forms and shapes.in the other hand, It actually to describe and express my self to to people who see my art work. I think, this is an interesting project that make a lot of improvement for my self.

For this project 1, I created an art work like a human head that the artwork divided into two part which is black and white. this project actually to show the what my hobby, what i think and what i really do in my self. for example, I love to saw new modern building, and i also want to be a leader one day, that two thing i express it from the eye of this art work, there are a shape of a modern building and the other side is leadership.

Project 2 : Self-Expression through Architectural Space
ME IN SPACE

This is project 2, project two is a group work. the lecturer form us become 3 people in a group. first of all, before we starting work togeher this assignment required to design or create our own space. after we created he model, the lecturer try to find the same thing or characteristic to form us as a group and the design of this project is base on our self expression or self-potrait. On the other hand, this project required us to create 1:1 scale model using the brown board or card board.

From this project 2,  I felt that I've understand a lot of thing and gave me a lot o experience. For example how to make a design on a paper became a real thing and have a good proportion in a real life and then this project also let me know how important a contribution of a member in a group work project and also let me know that how the way to combine three brain or design into one. lastly this project also gave us a lot of problems to solve together and the problem let us learn how to work into a group.

Final Project: My City Dream Space

For this final project, the first thing that we need to do is to watch four movies, which are

1. Blade runner
2. fifth element
3. Tron legacy
4. Ghost in the Shell

from this project we need to slect a movie to work on. this project actually is individual and group work. the we need to build a site model or part of city from the movie in scale 1:50 based on the movie. we also need to create a space or hideout and a character which can link to this movie. the site was given in between the building. we required to design a hideout for our own individual in a space which is 5m width, 15m length and 12.5 height.

Exercise: My Living My Space

This exercise required me to produce an A2 presentation board regarding the favorite place I had chosen in my home which contains five different materials.I had to analyse the materials and list down the properties of the materials.

Through this exercise, I had learnt that there are many materials been used to construct a space such as my room and those materials can be categorized into furnishing material, finishing materials, raw materials and so on. I also get to know more about the materials that can be seen everywhere and some new materials.

Project 1a: "Materiality of SPACE: An experiential exploration"

In this project, me and my group mates required to produce 2 A2 presentation board and 1 mood board. Besides that, we also need to prepare an individual A2 presentation board to show the specific part of our research about the materials used in it.

Through this assignment, I understand that the effects of materials on aesthetics and structural qualities of a space or building. Besides that, through visiting to the restaurant, i knew more materials that can be used within a space to create a totally different experiences compared to the traditional materials.

Project 2: Material Used Shown Qualities of Space

This assignment needs me to create an A3 size presentation board regarding my design for the final project of design studio. This presentation board should contain the materials that I used in my hideout design.

I had learnt a lot of new materials through doing research of materials that suited my design. I knew that the properties of the materials are very important in creating a suitable spatial quality.

Project 1: Precedent Study

In this project, we are required to form in a group of 4 and select an era of historical period. Then, we are supposed to decide on a building on the period. My group and I decided "Paladianism" as our era and "Victoria & Albert Museum" as our building.

Part 1: Essay (group)

In this project, we were required to write a 500-word essay. We may include images, sketches or diagrams to fit maximum 5 A4-size papers of the chosen building on its design ideas and significant contribution to its culture.

Part 2: Analysis Presentation Board (individual)

We were needed to create an A2-sized presentation board. The presentation board should include floor plans, building sections, analysis diagrams and sketches. Most importantly, your drawings should communicate the depth of your analysis of the building.

Part 3: Model (group)

In the same group, we needed to create a model to communicate our analysis. Most importantly, the model should communicate the important structure, components, ideas and concepts of your precedent. We must use "balsa timber" to build the model.

Part 4: Verbal Presentation (Group & Individual)

The presentation should communicate our precedent study to the class through analysis drawings and diagrams, model and essay.

Reflection

In this presentation session, i felt that i've improved my verbal presentation and i have known how to have a good communication between people to people and the way how to attract them with the thing that we present to them.

Reflection :

From this project  1A, I’ve learnt a lot of thing. For example, to record the observation and understand about the perception of the space and the human on it. Besides that, I also improved my drawing and sketching skill after this assignment. This assignment also give me a good experience to let me know the feeling to sketch on site. I felt that this project  is kind of an interesting project.

Reflection :

Project 1B is a project that give me a lot of improvement in rendering and also hatching. Actually this project is kind of an interesting project to learn, because this project is teach us to make up our drawing to become real. With 4 tonal values which are hatching, cross hatching, stippling and scribbling is the 4 method that I learn from this project. This project 1B  also help me to improve my drawing  and sketching skill with pencil although pen .

Project 2A – Orthographic projection

Project 2A, is a project that taught me how to draw a proper plan , elevation and section In right scale. This project also taught me to differentiate the line weight, line types, line quality and also the architectural hand writing. Besides that, this project also gave me a lot of experience like improvement of the drawing skill, drafting skill and also patient.

Project 2B– Axonometric projection

Reflection :

Project 2B is a project that taught us how to visualize  a space in  45 degree. This project also told me how important a detail in a space. Besides that , this project also taught me to express the spatial ideas in three dimension. Lastly project 2b  also help me to improve my drawing skill and drafting skill. For me in this project  the  line quality and the line type are  the most important thing, because it’s easier for viewer to differentiate the part that I explode.

Project 2C Is a project that gave me a lot of experience. For example to express the spatial ideas and architectural details in three dimension. Besides that, this project also improved my drawing skill , drafting skill and also how  to render it to look real. Project 2C also taught me to learn the line weight, line types and line quality.
